Kate Middleton Wears Princess Diana's Signature Tiara Again

Kate Middleton has long history of dressing like Princess Diana, and tonight she took it a step further by wearing her late mother-in-law's favorite crown, the Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara. The Duchess sported the bejeweled headpiece at Buckingham Palace for a state dinner welcoming King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain.

Middleton also donned a pink figure-fitting lace Marchesa gown with ruffled bell sleeves and a plunging neckline. In addition to the crown, she accessorized with with a dripping jeweled necklace and pearl pendant earrings.

Diana first received Cambridge Lover's Knot Tiara (also called Queen Mary's Lover's Knot Tiara) as a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth II in 1981, according to The Telegraph. The piece is over 100 years old, and was first commissioned by Queen Mary in the early 1900s (hence its alternate title). Garrand, a favored jeweler by the British royal family, made the tiara, which boasts 19 diamond arches, each holding a dangling pearl.

The Duchess has worn the late princess' treasured headpiece multiple times, including Buckingham Palace banquets in 2015 and 2016, when she wore it with a bright red Jenny Packham gown.
